700+ programs and events are offered for adults and children here at the Grout Museum District.
The various classes and activities draw people from throughout Northeast Iowa. They vary from panel discussions, genealogy classes, lectures, black history, and the local Civil War participation
Monthly get-togethers for folks in the area to view for deep-space and planetary objects through a good variety of both small and large telescopes. |

a behind-the-scenes look at the workings of a museum. It teaches and demonstrates the inner workings of the museum
Hands-on activities and tips on caring for family keepsakes and momentos.

Our much acclaimed and popular educational programs involve students from the greater Waterloo area and the surrounding counties. Visitors experience and participate actively in the study of geology, astronomy, pioneer life and Indians of the area. |
An interactive touch and see program designed for preschool children and special educational needs children to actually touch and learn about selected objects from our collections.
