With one of the best planetariums in the Midwest, it is the only planetarium in Northeast Iowa with public programs offered.

These programs offered to the public cover a wide range of topics and subjects. They appeal to students, amateur astronomers, and backyard stargazers. The attending school classes soon find that the complicated concepts of space and the universe understandable here in our planetarium with our expertly designed programs that meet the needs of area schools science curriculum.

Some of the astronomy related programs and activities include:

Monthly

A get-together for folks in the area to view for deep-space and planetary objects through a good variety of both small and large telescopes.

Telescope Checkout Program

(Individuals and groups "check-out" a 6" Dobsonian Telescope, or 4.5" Astroscan Telescope, 6 telescopes available)

Telescope Building Workshop
(build your own 4" refracting telescope)
