The Cedar Valley Arboretum and Botanical Gardens
Located on Orange road in Waterloo, Iowa, just east of Hawkeye Community College in Prairie Grove Park.
It is currently under construction and will be a total of 75 acres in size when completed. It will be regional wide source of beauty and a source of information and learning about environmental concerns, our local plants and trees. Currently under development, the Sesquicentennial Forest is being planted and several demonstrations gardens were already been put in last spring with annuals, perennials and vegetable beds on display. Please stop and pay a visit. Iowa Arboretum and Garden Directory Arboretum, Botanical and Garden Resource Registry We are open for volunteers every Saturday morning from 8:00 - 12:00. Work involves everything from cleanup, mulching of trees,planting, lay out of the Community Garden area and path construction. Projects include watering, mulching, cleanup, weeding, garden You don't need to spend the entire morning and you can request a call if you would like to work on a specific project. The arboretum is in need of hand tools, soaker hoses, and a leveling transit.
