I would like to locate anyone that is related to Irene (DEweesez0 Ewing and David M Ewing. I have finally located his parents. They were Hester Mercer and James Ewing. My GRandmother was born in Washington Iowa in 1885. Do any of you know anything about this family.

Hello- I would like to find a Davenport newspaper account or Lutheran church record of the 15 Oct 1854 marriage of Hans Henry Spetman (b:21 Apr 1825 in Holstein,Germany; d: 21 Oct 1915 in Council Bluffs) to Catherine Margaretha Beck (b: 27 Jun 1830 in Struckdorf, Germany; d: 6 Mar 1901 in Co. Bluffs). Catherine's father was Asmus Henry Beck & mother was Elsabe Luica Kickbush, both from Lubeck, Germany. Hans Henry's surname in Germany was Spethmann.

Are the newspapers for 1854 in a city library or the State Archives?

I know there were lots of folks from Schleswig/ Holstein who passed through Davenport. Was there a particular church most attended?
