CD USA-DIRECT SALES A SUBSIDIARY OF AMERICAN BUSINESS INFORMATION (ABI) P.O. BOX 3366 OMAHA NE 68176-0202 I recently purchased a CDROM disk from CD USA-DIRECT SALES, a subsidiary of American Business Information. The phone sale person was very helpful and very gracious and thanked me several times for my order. When I got the bill I saw why. The entire back of the 8 x 11 invoice is just covered with what they call the TERMS & CONDITIONS. You cannot return anything without their permission IN WRITING, and at the bottom of all the limits and don'ts on the back it says "IF THESE TERMS ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE TO YOU, DO NOT USE THIS INFORMATION". Why don't these kind of companies state THEIR TERMS AND CONDITIONS IN THEIR ADS, I can tell you why, NOBODY WOULD ORDER FROM ABI. So I can't use it and I can't return it without their written permission. I wonder if I can charge them $20.00 shipping and handling when I return it. I think NOT. Another quote from the Terms & Conditions on the back: "ABI DOES NOT ASSUME ANY LIABILITY FOR THE CORRECTNESS OF ITS DATABASE, OR THE INFORMATION FROM WHICH IT IS COMPILED. ABI DOES NOT WARRANT THE COMPREHENSIVENESS, COMPLETENESS ACCURACY OR ADEQUACY FOR ANY PURPOSE" WHAT GOOD IS IT THEN!. Again this was not in the in the Advertisement for the CD-ROM's either, I would have NEVER ORDERED FROM ABI, I don't think most people would. This exorbitant shipping/handling charge was not mentioned when I placed the order!. Just profuse gratitude for my order. From Polk County IA
