The following has graciously offered to be of assistance to the visitors of the Iowa Civil War Site. Please be specific in your requests, and only request information for areas specified.

- I have the official roster from the State of Iowa for the Iowa 1st light artillery and could do look-ups.

I have the entire roster for the Iowa 34th infantry if anyone needs a lookup.

I have a book that has complete regimental ROSTERS and brief histories of the 17th thru 31st Iowa Infantry regiments. I would be happy to look up soldiers for people.

I have the book Roster and Record of Iowa Soldiers in the War of the Rebellion in my possession. It includes history and complete roster information on the following, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th Iowa Regiments/Infantry.
I would be more then glad to look up anything on these regiments, check to see if anyone is on a certain roster etc. for anyone who wants to e-mail me an inquiry. The book is 1200 pages so couldn't begin to submit all the info in there.

35th Regiment
On the inside cover of a bible I have there is an inscription as follows:
Theodore Meek of Louisville, Kentucky presented by his loving wife, Carolina Meek, at Carney, October 7, 1863, 35th Regiment of Iowa Infantry.
I am not sure about "Carny" but the rest is pretty clear. I am researching my family history (Holland) and I don't know where this bible came from. The Hollands settled in River Junction in 1850. I think they originally came from Georgia.
I don't know if the above information on Theodore Meek will be of any help.
