1920 - The first playground built.
1947 - Boys Optimist Baseball program begins.
1950 - Swimming pools built at Gates & Byrnes.
1961- Permanent collection started with gift of Marvin Cone's "I Have Loved the Unloved".
Midwest Collection begun.
WCP performs in furnace room in old Rec. Center.
1965 - New Recreation Center building opened - November 29th.
WCP moves into the Hope Martin Theatre.
1966 - Friends of the Center started.
1968 thru 1973 - Two exhibits per year presented.
1970 - Annual Art & Craft Sale started.
American Decorative Arts Collection started with a gift of pottery and textiles.
1975 - Girls Optimist Softball begun.
1976 -Tibbitts baseball diamond completed.
Workshop Wing opened with Riverside Galleries, Shop, Library, Classrooms, Junior Art Gallery and collection storage.
WCP contributed $50,000 for new wing.
Shop opened with new wing. First location was upstairs West Wing.
1977 - Haitian Collection established by Dr. & Mrs. Reuling.
Broadened to Caribbean in 1984 by Ute Stebich.
1979 -Summitt softball diamond completed.
1980 - Dane baseball diamond completed.
1981 - New pools at Gates && Byrnes open.
1981-82 - WCP and BHCT merge.
1983 - McKinstry softball diamond completed.
WCP received Iowa Award for Distinguished Service to the Arts.
1985 - Northeast Iowa Print Club started by Art Department.
First Target grant received.
1986-87 - WCP/BHCT moves administrative offices and rehearsals to Walker Building.
1988 - First McElroy grant received.
1990 - Permanent Collection Galleries/C0ourt Theatre opened.
Name of Waterloo Museum of Art adopted to incorporate art exhibits, programs, classes, collection and shop.
Fund raising efforts expanded.
1991 - First John Deere grant received.
Soviet Symposium (first adult program based on JAG exhibit.)
Began Cultural Literacy program (expanded audiences to include intermediate students)
WCP/BHCT named Organization of the Year/Pride of the Cedar Valley by the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce.
1992 - First exhibit to be loaned to another facility.
1993 - 25th Anniversary Celebration.
BHCT named Attraction of the Year by the Waterloo convention and Visitors Bureau.
WCP/BHCT ranked first among Iowa's top performing arts organizations by the Iowa Arts Council.
1994 - Completed first season of Midnight Basketball.
Construction of the Young Arena completed.
Opened two new waterslides at Byrnes and Gates Pools.
